Bethany Air Gives Back
Supporting Families Through Bethany’s Babies Food Pantry in Edgewater, MD
At Bethany Air, taking care of our Edgewater, MD community means more than keeping homes comfortable. We believe that being a local business also means being there for our neighbors when they need a helping hand.
That commitment is at the heart of Bethany’s Babies Community Outreach Center, a community initiative operated from a portion of Bethany Air’s commercial space. What began as an effort to help people in need has grown into a year-round resource offering food, clothing, baby supplies, holiday gifts, and other essentials to local families.
A Local Business With a Heart for the Community
Bethany Air was founded by Tim Zois in 2002, but the company’s community involvement began with a simple idea: help people who are going through a difficult time.
Tim and his late wife, Denise, started by handing out sandwiches to people in need in Baltimore and Washington, D.C. Denise later created Bethany’s Babies, collecting food and baby supplies for single mothers.
That spirit of helping others continues today through Bethany’s Babies Community Outreach Center.
Rather than limiting community giving to the holiday season, the center assists throughout the year. Families and individuals can find resources such as food, clothing, diapers, wipes, formula, and other necessities.
Bethany’s Babies’ Food Pantry Helps Meet a Growing Need
The food pantry has become an important resource for people throughout the local community.
According to a December 2025 report from WMAR-2 News, the center experienced a noticeable increase in demand, with substantially more people visiting for food than in the previous year. Volunteers also help by bringing rescued food from supermarkets and restaurants to the center.
For Bethany Air, this is what community involvement is all about: neighbors helping neighbors.
The pantry isn’t simply about providing a box of food. It gives people an opportunity to get through a difficult period with dignity while they work toward greater stability.

Supporting Moms, Babies, and Families
Bethany’s Babies has a special focus on helping mothers and families who may be struggling to afford everyday necessities.
Gina Guerriero manages Bethany’s Babies while also working with Bethany Air. She has helped expand the outreach program and its reach within the community.
Families may receive items such as:
- Food and pantry staples
- Baby formula
- Diapers and wipes
- Clothing
- Baby supplies
- Thrift-store items
- Holiday gifts
For a parent trying to make ends meet, something as simple as diapers or a package of food can make a meaningful difference.
That’s why we believe community support should address real needs—not just seasonal ones.
Giving Back During the Holidays
Bethany’s Babies also extends its community outreach during the holiday season through an Angel Tree program.
In 2025, the program worked with the local American Legion Hall to provide gifts for 150 families—twice the number served the previous year.
Behind every number is a family that may have been worried about how they would provide a memorable holiday for their children.
Through donations, volunteers, and community partnerships, Bethany’s Babies helps make sure more local families experience the generosity of their neighbors.
How You Can Help Bethany’s Babies
Community support is what makes this outreach possible. If you live in Edgewater or the surrounding Anne Arundel County area and would like to help, there are several ways to get involved.
Consider donating items that can help local families, including:
- Nonperishable food and pantry staples
- Diapers and baby supplies
- Baby formula
- Gently used clothing
- Household necessities
- New toys and holiday gifts
- Other essential items requested by the outreach center
Volunteering is another meaningful way to contribute. Whether you’re helping organize donations, assisting with the food pantry, or supporting a seasonal program, your time can make a difference.
Businesses and community organizations can also help by organizing donation drives or partnering with Bethany’s Babies on community initiatives.
Because needs change throughout the year, we recommend checking Bethany’s Babies Community Outreach Center’s Facebook page for current donation requests, updates, and information about how you can support the center.
Most importantly, you don’t have to make a huge contribution to make an impact. A bag of groceries, a package of diapers, a gently used coat, or a few hours of your time can help a neighbor get through a challenging season.
Turning a Need Into an Opportunity to Help
The food pantry grew out of a difficult time for many families.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Bethany Air converted its lobby into a food pantry after recognizing that many people in the community had lost their jobs and needed assistance.
What started as a response to an immediate need developed into a continuing community resource.
That evolution reflects something we value deeply at Bethany Air: when our neighbors are facing challenges, we should look for ways to help.
Helping People Get Back on Their Feet
One of the most meaningful parts of Bethany’s Babies is seeing what happens after someone receives a little support.
The goal isn’t simply to assist today. It’s to help people move forward.
WMAR-2 News highlighted examples of individuals who used the food and clothing resources while experiencing homelessness or financial hardship and later found employment and began getting back on their feet.

Those moments remind us that a little help at the right time can have a lasting impact.
Sometimes someone needs food while they’re looking for work. Sometimes a parent needs diapers or formula. Sometimes a family needs clothing or holiday gifts.
Whatever the circumstance, having a place where people can ask for help can make a difficult situation feel a little more manageable.
Community Involvement Is Part of Who We Are
Bethany Air is proud to serve Edgewater and the surrounding communities as a local heating and air conditioning company, but our connection to the community goes beyond HVAC services.
Through Bethany’s Babies, our team has the opportunity to support families, collect and distribute essential items, work with volunteers, and connect neighbors who want to give with people who need assistance.
The work continues because of the generosity of community members who donate food, clothing, baby supplies, gifts, and other necessities.
It’s a reminder that meaningful community involvement doesn’t always have to start with a large organization. Sometimes it starts with a local business deciding to open its doors and help.
Thank you to our community.
We are grateful to everyone who contributes to Bethany’s Babies Community Outreach Center—from volunteers and donors to local organizations and neighbors who continue to support the mission.
Every donation matters. Every volunteer hour matters. Every bag of food, box of diapers, article of clothing, and holiday gift can make a difference to someone in our community.
At Bethany Air, we are proud that our Edgewater location can be more than a place where we serve HVAC customers. It can also be a place where neighbors help neighbors.
Thank you to everyone who continues to make Bethany’s Babies possible. Together, we can keep building a stronger, more caring Edgewater community—one family at a time.
